Accelerated Caregiving Fundamentals & In-Home Care Aide. This course will provide demonstrable knowledge to assist the elderly in maintaining their independence and retaining the quality of life. During the study, students will understand and demonstrate the core fundamentals of activities of daily living. (10 CEU’s)
Diabetic Overview Option 1 This introductory course regarding Diabetic will cover include what is diabetes, facts, and myths, the several types of diabetes. This covers the importance of glucose and insulin and the overall effect on the body (1 CEU)

This covers the importance of glucose and insulin and the overall effect on the body. This includes campus clinicals. (2 CEU’s)
Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care Training. This course will instruct caregivers/PCA’s to recognize that persons with dementia have the same basic needs for security, shelter, nutrition, and affection as other adults. Students will learn about the four brain lobes and how atrophy of those areas affect the persons actions, feelings and behaviors. Bonus: TBI overview (2 CEU’s)
Chronic Illness Training. We examine Heart Disease, Cardiovascular Disease, Cerebrovascular Disease, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Hypertension, Kidney disease, Liver Disease, Arthritis, Osteoporosis, and Cancer. We look at the psychological and cognitive conditions of mood disorders such as Anxiety disorder and more. (8 CEU’s)
Mental Illness Training. This course will cover psychiatric disorders such as Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. You will receive techniques on proper positive behavioral support, communication techniques and more. What are appropriate interactions with the person who have Mental Illness .
Aging Overview Training. We examine the fall risks of the elderly and how to prevent or reduce the impact on a resident. We discuss the biological and physical aspects of the aging and implications for care. Topics include Heart and Lungs, Kidney and Bladder, Muscles, Bones, and more.
Elder Abuse Training. This course covers the mandated information on Elder Abuse and Neglect training. You will understand who is considered a mandated reporter and what are the five elder abuse categories in Nevada.
